This first version of the Diskio Pi is intended for manufacturers who need a large screen, touch or not. The public, aware of ecological and privacy issues, is also concerned, however, it's necessary to have some basic computer skills, although many tutorials on the use of nano PC cards exist on the web.
This machine is therefore intended for people who want to master the hardware of their portable computing device, in an era when proprietary hardware is abundant on the market but free hardware is very rare.
Do I need special knowledge ?
The assembly of the machine is simple for an experienced maker, and can take longer for a beginner (about 2 hours). However, no soldering is necessary, we have made the assembly as simple as possible.

Which parts do I need ?
To give you an idea of what the assembly can be, here is the prototype 0.3 completely dismantled (off screen):

- The Diskio Pi kit
- A small screwdriver: several screw sizes are present in the Diskio Pi. A watch-type screwdriver is required, ideally a box with several sizes of cross-head screwdrivers (from 1 mm to 3 mm). An universal screwdriver will be delivered with the kit;
- "Adhesive tape": to facilitate assembly and to fix the cables, a few pieces of adhesive tape are required. I use tape, such as "electric tape";
- A cutter: to unlock the gauge test button;
- Optional: a tweezer ;
- Patience and thoroughness!
If you want to print your own case:
- A 3D printer in 400x300x300mm minimum format (Scalar XL Premium for example, or Anycubic Chiron)
- An adjustable soldering iron to install the brass inserts;
- Special double-sided adhesive for the screen (2mm wide)
